5 More Reasons to Join Trauma & Abuse: The Unshaming Way

Can I help you make a decision?

I want to show you why Trauma & Abuse: The Unshaming Way will benefit you, your life, and all those around you.

This program will transform the way you feel about and respond to your personal story forever. Here’s how:

  1. You’ll understand the connection between trauma, shame, and abuse.

Shame takes root in our psyche when we’ve been abused (by a person, system, or collective culture) and it is witnessed with denial, dismissal or gaslighting.

It continues to live inside you until it can be witnessed. In Trauma & Abuse: The Unshaming Way, you will intimately discover how to witness your trauma in a loving way. This is the “medicine” we need to heal our bodies and minds from the pain and symptoms related to trauma.

When you do that, you will open the doors to a deeper knowing of yourself and your gifts, away from the harmful beliefs and ideas you learned after being abused.

2. You’ll learn how to create safety in your relationships with others.

Many of us are seeking safety in relationships (with ourselves, our family, our romantic partners) because we didn’t have it in the past. Often, this comes from fear around past wounds that have not been processed.

When you learn how to become a loving witness even in extreme circumstances – like around abuse, violence, and trauma – and you can practice those skills, you will have the tools you need to BRING more safety into all your interactions.

Think of it like a coat of armor. When painful memories arise, or when people say/do hurtful things to you in the future, it won’t penetrate past your skin the way it used to or those assaults will simply have less impact on you. That is what alchemizing your abuse can create.

3. You will find deep medicine in your wounds, and you will find hidden gifts you did not know you had.

An amazing thing happens when you are able to examine your abuse as a loving witness: you will find beautiful gifts – parts of yourself that have been cooking alchemically in your wounds, which have been waiting to express themselves to the world.

As contrary as it might seem, within our darkest thoughts and moments are some of the most potent expressions of our Selves and our humanity.

When you transform your relationship with abuse, you are shining a light on these lost and forgotten parts of yourself. You are mending and reuniting with your Soul.

4. You will learn to work on your own abuse story, and you will learn how to carry that wisdom forward in your life.

Processing abuse stories is a critical part of becoming a loving witness in the world who holds space for others without judgment. And that is how we BREAK the human cycle around abuse.

Shame lives in our abuse stories – the ones that have not been truly witnessed, the ones that have been denied, dismissed or gaslighted long ago (or even yesterday when you told the story).

No one is perfect, including myself. We are all humans with flaws and blind spots. We wound each other.

5. Learn how to relate to difficult and overwhelming emotions in a way that deepens you, informs you, and creates more intimacy with yourself and others

Through the Radical Soma practices you will learn and engage with, you will develop new levels of emotional intelligence and intuition that not only feel the somatic experiences that live inside you, but give expression through the body and voice so that you can cultivate your uniqueness.

In Trauma & Abuse: The Unshaming Way, you will gain valuable tools to not only find relief from the violence that has been done to you, but also to prevent yourself from unwittingly committing violence against others.

You will learn to live with more heart, be a healing listener to yourself and others, and find pieces of kindness, love, and humanity that you may have lost during abusive moments of your life.

This is an invitation to communicate with the marginalized parts of your soul, and to invite them back into wholeness with your Self.

Curious what other students have said about working with David? You can read their reviews here:

“I am blown away and so deeply grateful for David and his UnShaming work. David creates a beautifully welcoming atmosphere, awake and grounded in inner and outer diversity.

Each week, I so looked forward to the time to sit with him and the community he helped to create. David's teaching style is transparent and real, drawing upon his expertise and years working with people, as well as his own life experience. Something in me relaxed, felt guided to exactly where I needed to go in myself, so relieved and awakened by the power of the unshamed experience.

“I am a "seasoned" therapist with years of personal growth work - I cannot say enough about the value of this course no matter where you are on your personal or professional journey.

– Katje

This perspective and approach is unlocking deep and seemingly intractable mysteries for me.  It’s giving me answers to questions I didn’t even know I held because staying with the questions was too painful to hear the answer.

It’s turning me towards listening to and trusting my body, softening my self-judgment, and giving me new, more compassionate ways to hear the story of my life. It’s helping me track issues – my own, those of others, and the culture – to a deeper, wider source.

“And it’s strengthening my voice and faith in the value and truth of my own wisdom, even and especially when it expresses a truth that others or the culture doesn’t want to hear.”
