Process-Oriented Facilitation Training - Practice Sessions

As part of this 10-month Facilitator Training, students are working to practice the skills they are learning in process-oriented psychology, working with the body/Radical Soma and following David’s unshaming approach. Some students are interested in offering free sessions with people outside of their training cohorts to practice deepening these skills.

If you are interested in working with one of David’s students, please read through the bios below and reach out to book with them directly via their email.

Student Bios:

Ariel Shearman:

I'm an international pet sitter, sourdough bread baker, recovering bulimic, Japanese-to-English translator, and most of all...a human with a deep capacity to listen and witness.I have taken several courses on connecting people with their inner desire/intelligence, and David's Unshaming is by far the most powerful on a deep level. As David says, I will lead by following you. In a container that is open to anything and everything about you, we will do what you're called to share...whether that be dancing, singing, gesturing, talking, whining, collapsing. All of these have messages that are crying to be witnessed and held and allowed to blossom.

I look forward to holding a container for your bud to start blossoming!

Eli Arlen:

I’m a queer, large-bodied woman; a homestead farmer, traveler, and certified Somatic Healer. I’ve been living with the slog of chronic illness for the past 25+ years. A year ago, when I began my Unshaming journey, I felt things really shift for the first time, discovering the medicine behind my symptoms. With each unfolding that I've witnessed, I’ve been so moved to see what felt like a wrongness be revealed as beautiful, potent intelligence. I love helping others befriend their marginalized, shamed aspects, and to recognize the wisdom within. If you identify as female, gender fluid or queer and this resonates with you, please reach out!

Erin Sprinkle:

(she/her)

I help women and mamas with: relationship pain and conflict | body image, comfort eating, dieting | depression, anxiety, trauma, CPTSD | religious trauma | confidence in neuro- diversity

I know what it’s like to carry body shame (acne/scars and controlled eating), overwhelming feelings and numbness (depression/anxiety as a teen and postpartum). I’ve also journeyed through the stress and pain of relationship conflict and religious de-construction. I have embraced my neuro-sparkly brain. Through it all, I have come to deeply know Love.

The space I hold is wide open. Some process slowly or need tears witnessed. Others want to play or sing or explore rage. You can’t get it wrong. The point is freedom to be you. All the experiences and parts of you (especially the labeled “unworthy” parts) are welcome in this space.

Jana Steingass:

I’m most curious and moved in life by people. I’m curious about why humans have certain common behaviors, and conversely, what makes us all uniquely ourselves. I am really passionate about helping hold space for people to discover the most authentic and alive energies that want to express themselves—what brings them into their highest excitement.

I’m a non binary veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy, who has lived through some intense life challenges like a career transition, divorce and long battle with chronic lyme disease and PTSD.

Lee McClenon:

As a long-time doula, I would love to hear from new and expecting parents because Unshaming is completely changing how I see pregnancy aches, birth traumas, postpartum blues, and the way we treat babies and toddlers. I also have a history in activism and am practicing working with grief, anger, and dread about social topics, including climate change and politics. Finally, Unshaming changed the way I interact with the medical system as a cancer survivor and I would love to help you see your acute or chronic illness through new eyes. Lee (she/her) is a white, queer woman in her 30s, living on the east coast of the US.

I love to accompany people through their pain and processes, and witness the beauty of how that process unfolds. How people learn to hold and embrace their pain and wounds always touches me very deeply. I don't have a specific preference about what group of people I would like to work with.

I am a lifelong plant lover, artist, and most recently, mother to a five year old sparkling sun. Since my first class with David in 2021, his teachings and the alchemy of unshaming have been transforming my personal path of healing, self inquiry, and parenting in ways I had deeply longed for but hadn’t known were possible. Maria Talero, PhD:

I am a bicultural, bilingual native of Colombia who believes that we actually heal by shape-shifting, and that this only happens when we are soul-meltingly seen, heard and believed. I listen with a total, unwavering commitment to the intelligence, gifts and powers inside your troubles. I am warm, patient and gentle & I have a huge capacity to notice and help you reconnect with the tiniest details of your own experience. UnShaming for me is the culmination of 23 years of study and practice, originally as an academic philosopher of soma/embodiment theory, then as a skilled facilitator specializing in psychological trust and safety in groups. We can work together in English or in Spanish, whatever you’re most comfortable with.

Christina Amri

Christina is an artist, a mother and grandmother who has run a successful design and fabrication business for over 40 years.  During that time, she also taught art, and interned with Marion Rosen of the Rosen Institute, in Body-centered therapy, and has followed the teachings of the Buddhist Monk and activist Thich Nhat Hahn, and teacher/writer Stephen Levine. She loves the tender human heart, the intricacies of being a human and spiritual being in this complex world, and the solace of metaphor and poetry in our lives. Learning with David Bedrick has been one of the most moving, profound, healing and growthful experiences of my life. I would love to witness and facilitate people in this deep and beautiful work of Unshaming.
